Who are we?
Socially Inclusive Filmmakers
Film Crew 4u are a community interest company with a mission to support disadvantaged, underprivileged, and marginalised communities through filmmaking. We run filmmaking workshops for young people and adults that build confidence, empower, and create life skills.
We have been fortunate enough to work with schools and charities around Hampshire, helping to get young people back into education through film. We measure our social impact to highlight the differences that we are making in people’s lives.
As well as our community interest work we also offer video production services to professional clients – from filming awards and conferences to sports events and weddings, creating promotional videos and much more. Get in touch if you think there is something we can help you with, no project is too big or too small.

Billy
Film Crew 4u was founded in 2020 by Billy. After receiving treatment for alcohol dependency and starting over again in a new city at age 40, Billy completed a filmmaking course and carried out some volunteer work for a local film society.
It was through this that he realised what he wanted to do in life – become a filmmaker – and that he could use his life experience combined with his filmmaking skills to help others who were struggling, not just those struggling with addiction, but anyone, from all walks of life and at any age.
Outside of filmmaking Billy enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and discovering new places to eat.

Kate
Kate is a freelance camera operator who has been working with Film Crew 4u since early 2021. She graduated from The University of Winchester with a BA in Film Studies and an MA in English Literature with a focus on Adaptation Studies.
Kate’s love of filmmaking came from watching the films of Wong Kar Wai, Krzysztof Kieslowski, and Wes Anderson. Apart from working with Film Crew 4u, Kate frequently works on the Gallagher Premiership Rugby for BT Sport, and has also worked for the BBC and ITV.
When she’s not working Kate enjoys walking her dog, skateboarding, and going to gigs.

Mark
Mark has been working with Film Crew 4u since its inception in 2020. After meeting at their volunteer work in Portsmouth Billy & Mark partnered up to form Film Crew 4u. Mark has a BA and an MA in Film Studies and enjoys filming and editing.
In his spare time Mark likes watching films, listening to music, and discussing world cinema.

Steve
After struggling with addiction and homelessness Steve met Billy at a treatment centre in Portsmouth where he was able to turn his life around. After graduating from treatment Steve went on to complete an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social care and was offered a job with a local homeless charity where he became a support worker for some of the most troubled individuals in their care. It was during this time that Steve discovered a passion for drones and filming, he has since completed his drone pilots licence and expanded to flying FPV (First Person View).
Outside of work Steve enjoys spending time with family, friends, and practising new manoeuvres with his FPV.
